Job summary

Building Careers UK in Stockport is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a growing fit-out contractor. The role focuses on commercial management of M&E packages across CAT A and CAT B projects, working with project and commercial teams to control costs and deliver projects within budget.

The ideal candidate will have proven M&E QS experience, strong knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts, and excellent communication and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong experience in commercial fit-out/refurbishment.
• Experience on CAT A and/or CAT B projects.
• Strong understanding of M&E packages and costs.
• Experience managing M&E subcontractors/supply chain.
• Knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of M&E packages across CAT A and CAT B fit-out projects.
• Managing costs from pre-construction through to final account.
• Reviewing M&E specs, drawings and tender docs.
• Preparing and reviewing M&E budgets and cost plans.
• Managing subcontract procurement and negotiating packages.
• Preparing valuations, payment applications and assessments.
• Managing variations, change control and additional works.
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts and performance.
• Building relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Supporting estimating and pre-construction processes.
