Job summary

Emtec Building Services in Uddingston is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of mechanical and electrical projects across Scotland. You will work with project teams to control costs, value, cash flow and performance, while managing payments, variations and final accounts.

We seek an experienced QS with strong contract knowledge, familiarity with SBCC and NEC forms, and membership in RICS/CIOB/CICES preferred. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical, communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
• Membership of RICS, CIOB or CICES would be advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Taking commercial ownership of projects and driving successful outcomes.
• Collaborating with project teams to manage costs, value, cash flow and performance.
• Managing applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
• Providing practical contractual advice and helping navigate commercial issues.
• Managing subcontractor accounts from terms to payments and variations.
• Producing monthly cost and value reports and supporting reviews and forecasts.
• Spotting commercial risks and opportunities early and managing them.
