Job summary
Emtec Building Services, a leading M&E contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Building Services team in Uddingston. You will support commercial delivery across Scotland for mechanical and electrical projects in the commercial, industrial and public sectors.
This role suits an experienced QS looking to take on more responsibility or a Senior QS seeking their next move in a growing M&E business.
Qualifications
- Relevant Quantity Surveying experience at senior level or ready for next step.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Familiarity with the Construction Act and SBCC/NEC forms.
- Strong numerical, communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred.
- RICS/CIOB/CICES membership advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Responsibilities
- Take commercial ownership of projects and drive to successful outcomes.
- Work with project teams to control costs, value, cash flow and performance.
- Manage payment applications, variations and final accounts.
- Provide contractual advice and navigate commercial issues.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, terms, payments and variations.
- Produce monthly cost and value reports and support forecasts.
- Spot commercial risks and opportunities and manage them.
