Job summary

Caval Limited in the North East is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing construction team. You will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring robust financial control and optimal commercial performance.

Working across a wide range of construction projects and sectors, you will manage budgets, valuations, variations and final accounts, oversee subcontractor procurement and payments, and provide clear commercial reporting

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, cost management and commercial processes.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Commercially driven with strong attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Relevant QS qualification or significant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of multiple construction projects.
• Prepare and manage budgets, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow and profitability.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Review contracts and provide commercial advice to the project team.
• Work closely with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide clear commercial reporting to senior management.
