Job summary

Senior Quantity Surveyor role with a national main contractor is available in Worthing. You will manage two small schemes up to £5m and one larger project, handling procurement, contracts, and final accounts while mentoring junior QS staff.

Work focuses on design & build contracts with strong cost control, forecasting, and risk management. A competitive salary and package are offered for an experienced professional.

Qualifications

• Proven Senior QS on projects valued at £10m+
• Experience mentoring Quantity Surveyors
• Expertise in package procurement and high-value scopes
• Proficiency with JCT contracts
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline; or RICS accredited
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Commercially focused with attention to risk
• Able to work on own initiative

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of two smaller schemes up to £5m and one larger scheme
• Support pre-construction with tender docs and procurement schedules
• Full management of accounts from procurement to final accounting
• Assess subcontractor progress and budget compliance
• Undertake valuations and client variations
• Produce internal and external financial reports, forecasts and liabilities
• Supervise and mentor junior team members
• Identify value opportunities and cost-saving measures
• Highlight risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Advise on contractual claims and disputes throughout the project lifecycle
