Job summary

Borne Resourcing Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Woking on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on commercial management across procurement, CVRs, valuations and final accounts for a diverse project portfolio including commercial, education and retail sectors.

You will join a stable commercial team in a growing Surrey-based main contractor with a turnover around £30m and a willingness to deploy best-practice cost control across milestones.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in main-contractor environments.
• Strong ability to manage procurement, CVRs, valuations and final accounts.
• Experience controlling variations, risk and subcontractor payments.

Senior Quantity Surveyor | Main Contractor | Woking | Hybrid working | Up to £85,000

I'm working with an established Surrey-based main contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor as they enter their next stage of growth.

The business currently turns over approximately £30m and delivers new-build, refurbishment and fit-out projects across the commercial, education, ecclesiastical and retail sectors.

This is an opportunity to join a stable commercial team of four surveyors while the company expands its secured workload and wider market presence.

The Role

• Commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account


• Procurement and management of subcontract packages


• Valuations, applications for payment and subcontractor payments


• Monthly CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting


• Managing variations, change control and contractual risk


• Negotiating and agreeing subcontractor final accounts

• Design and build and traditionally procured contracts

What They're Looking For

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with main-contractor experience


• Strong procurement, CVR, valuation, change-control and final-account capability
  
• Comfortable taking commercial ownership of projects


• Experience across commercial, education, retail, residential or refurbishment projects


• Housebuilding backgrounds will also be considered


• A capable Quantity Surveyor ready to progress into a Senior QS position may also suit


• Strong communication and subcontractor-management skills
