Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on refurbishment and lifecycle projects across the UK. The role is mainly office-based with strong emphasis on contract administration, payments, valuations and final accounts.

You’ll manage multiple projects, mentor junior staff, and drive cost forecasting, risk management and value optimisation within a dynamic commercial team.

Qualifications

• Experience administering construction contracts (NEC, JCT or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing applications for payment, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial delivery of allocated projects and frameworks from inception through to final account.
• Review and negotiate contract terms, ensuring risks are identified and managed.
• Prepare, submit and agree detailed Applications for Payment in accordance with contractual timescales.
• Assess, value and certify subcontractor applications and quotations.
• Manage all project variations, compensation events and change control procedures, ensuring entitlement is protected and maximised.
• Produce monthly cost value reconciliations and forecast reports.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and report by exception to senior management.
