Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to actively shape the commercial delivery of major UK infrastructure projects. You will lead cost control, change management, risk assessment, and value realization within integrated delivery teams, contributing from day one.

You will work across rail, water, highways, defence, and nuclear programmes, applying NEC guidance and fostering strong client relationships. The role offers hybrid working and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity surveying or commercial management within infrastructure, construction, or a related built-environment sector.
• A good understanding of commercial delivery, contract administration, cost management, change control, and risk management.
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts, or a willingness to continue developing your expertise in this area.
• NEC project manager accreditation highly desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues.
• A collaborative mindset, with an interest in supporting others and contributing to a healthy, high-performing team culture.
• Professional membership, or progress towards membership, with a relevant body such as RICS or CICES is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the commercial delivery of complex infrastructure projects, helping to manage cost, change, risk, value, and contractual performance.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and project teams through clear communication, proactive engagement, and practical commercial advice.
• Apply your knowledge of the NEC suite and wider commercial processes to support well-informed decisions and disciplined project delivery.
• Contribute to procurement, contract administration, forecasting, reporting, and commercial governance activities across commissions.
• Support, coach, and develop colleagues, helping to create an inclusive team environment where people can grow, contribute, and thrive.
• Work with senior leaders to strengthen our service offering, identify opportunities, and enhance the value we bring to clients.
