Job summary

WGM Engineering Ltd, based in Glasgow, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role supports UK water-sector projects with hybrid working arrangements and a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will provide commercial support across contracts, manage cost forecasts, oversee variations, and liaise with clients.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent experience.
• Highly competent in MS Excel and Word.
• Ability to interpret and understand contract documents, scopes of works and contract drawings.
• Skilled in financial cost control, value recovery and change management.
• Experience within the Construction and/or Engineering industry.
• Detailed working knowledge of NEC4 Conditions of Contract.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience supporting dispute avoidance.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide Commercial expertise within designated projects to maximise returns.
• Produce accurate monthly cost and value forecasting of all projects and manage change control.
• Implement effective commercial processes across the business.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external parties.
• Maintain and enhance profitability and minimise risk by applying best commercial practice.
• Maintain positive cash flow at all times.
• Promote Commercial awareness within the business.
