Job summary

O'Neill & Brennan is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major two-year construction project in the South West, with options Bristol or Plymouth and hybrid working. The role focuses on commercial management, subcontractor procurement, cost reporting and CVRs, with scope to lead on substantial packages and ensure strong commercial controls across delivery.

Salary up to £75,000 plus comprehensive package, with potential for higher basic salary for the right

Qualifications

Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor.
Background with a Tier 1 contractor is preferred.
Experience managing substantial construction packages or projects.
Strong subcontract procurement and account management experience.
Good knowledge of cost reporting, forecasting and commercial controls.

Responsibilities

Commercial management of allocated packages from procurement through to final account.
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and appointment.
Management of subcontractor accounts and payments.
Cost forecasting, reporting and CVRs.
Management of variations and change.
Identification and management of commercial risk.
Working closely with operational and project management teams.
Maintaining strong commercial controls throughout project delivery.
