Job summary

O'Neill & Brennan are currently looking to speak with experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors regarding a significant construction project in Plymouth, with approximately two years of secured project duration.

This opportunity can accommodate candidates based around Bristol or Plymouth, with a flexible working arrangement designed to avoid constant long-distance travel, including three days project/office based with up to two days work from home per week.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor
• Preferably a background with a Tier 1 contractor
• Experience commercially managing substantial construction packages or projects
• Strong subcontract procurement and account management experience
• Good knowledge of cost reporting, forecasting and commercial controls
• The ability to operate with a good degree of commercial autonomy

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of allocated packages from procurement through to final account
• Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and appointment
• Management of subcontractor accounts and payments
• Cost forecasting, reporting and CVRs
• Management of variations and change
• Identification and management of commercial risk
• Working closely with operational and project management teams
• Maintaining strong commercial controls throughout project delivery
