Sphere Solutions is looking for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility on projects across the South West, initially supporting a major external refurbishment in Plymouth. The role is based from the Bristol office with flexibility to split time between Bristol and Plymouth.

Candidates from Bristol, Tiverton, Exeter, Taunton, Bath, Weston-super-Mare or surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Background within a main contractor environment.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (JCT experience preferred).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build lasting relationships.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and cost reports.
• Managing variations, change control and contractual correspondence.
• Producing accurate forecasts and cash flow reports.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Negotiating subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
• Working closely with operational teams to maximise project performance.
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – Leading Tier One Contractor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Tier One main contractor delivering high-profile construction projects across the South West.

This is a flexible role based out of the company's Bristol office. The successful candidate will initially support a major external refurbishment project in Plymouth, however the role offers flexibility depending on where you're based.

Candidates living closer to Bristol will be able to spend much of the working week in the Bristol office, travelling to the Plymouth project approximately one day per week. Those based further south may choose to spend more time on site. Following the completion of the Plymouth scheme, future projects are expected to be located closer to Bristol, making this an excellent long-term opportunity for candidates across the South West.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final account, ensuring commercial success while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience working for a main contractor on building or refurbishment projects.

You Will Ideally Have
