Job summary

Vertical Recruitment Limited is partnering with a Manchester-based infrastructure team to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role focuses on commercial management across major projects and national programmes, with exposure to energy, utilities, and civil engineering sectors.

You will work in a hybrid setup from Manchester, liaising with clients, Tier 1 contractors and project teams to deliver robust cost management, change control, and accurate forecasting on complex infrastructure schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in an infrastructure environment.
• Good working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4.
• Experience managing change, compensation events, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or capital investment programmes.
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with project data.
• Ability to build relationships with clients, contractors and wider project teams.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of infrastructure projects across the programme lifecycle.
• Prepare valuations, cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Monitor expenditure, cash flow, and budget performance; identify risks and opportunities.
• Support procurement, tender evaluation and contract reviews.
• Provide commercial input at different stages of project delivery and mentoring junior staff.
