Job summary

United Infrastructure Power T&D Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead day-to-day commercial activities on Transmission and Distribution projects, including NEC-based contracts and subcontractor governance.

You will manage cost reporting, risk, and variations, support project managers, and travel to sites as required, with hybrid working arrangements in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration in line with NEC 3/4 (Options A, B, C & E) or client terms.
• Subcontractor award and administration.
• Application for payments for Client and Subcontractors.
• Forecasting and performance tracking for Client and Subcontractors.
• Project Risk management including contingencies.
• Regular Site visits for contract and subcontract administration.
• Identify, notify, and manage early warnings and variations.
• Deliver monthly cost reporting, CVR, and end-life forecasting.
• Monthly project reporting and presentation of performance.
• Support Project Manager and regional Commercial Manager on deliverables.

Job description

As a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day Commercial responsibilities of delivering Transmission and Distribution Projects (either Underground Cables or Overhead Lines), and contributing towards the success of the project(s): Contract administration in line with NEC 3/4 (Options A, B, C & E), or other Client bespoke Contract terms and conditions. Subcontractor award and administration. Application for payments, for both Client and Subcontractors. Forecasting and performance tracking, for both Client and Subcontractors. Project Risk management, including managing Project Risk / Contingency allowances. Regular Site visits for Contract and Subcontract administration. Identify, notify, and manage Early Warning’s, Compensation events / Variations in accordance with Contract requirements. Deliver accurate and timely budget, cost, and change reporting. Understand and interpret the Project Estimate and Programme of Works. Develop and manage detailed monthly Cost Report / Cost Value Reconciliation / End Life Forecasting, including month end Accruals, cashflow / debtors analysis, Cost Control, and accurate Cost Forecasting. Monthly presentation of Project reporting, with emphasis on performance. Support the Project Manager, and regional Commercial Manager in respect of both Project and Commercial deliverables / requirements.

2-5 years’ experience in a similar role. Previous experience in similar industries, and / or NEC form of Contracting desirable. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required. Hybrid Working.
