Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the West Midlands is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Cost and Commercial Practice. You’ll collaborate with delivery teams to keep commercial targets, manage risks, and maintain project controls on education, commercial, industrial, retail and aviation schemes across the UK.

You will handle pre- and post-contract duties, validate costs, prepare regular reports, support procurement, and administer contracts (JCT/NEC) while mentoring junior staff and contributing

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent degree.
• Chartered member of RICS preferred.
• Experience in pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying.
• Familiar with JCT and NEC contract types.
• Understanding of measurement methods (NRM).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client teams, leaders, project managers, contractors and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.
• Validate and manage contractor and supplier costs & payments; ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Provide regular financial reports and risk updates to clients.
• Undertake procurement activities or support procurement teams in contractor evaluation and appointments.
• Administer various contract types and manage change orders; ensure compliance and timely submissions.
• Identify, analyze and mitigate commercial risks; support value engineering to improve project outcomes.
• Support and mentor junior QS staff in delivering surveying services.
