Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join our Cost and Commercial Practice in the North East. You will work with delivery teams to manage costs, risks and project controls across education, commercial, defence, and industrial sectors.

Role requires pre/post-contract QS experience, familiarity with JCT/NEC contracts, and ability to mentor junior staff. We offer a collaborative environment with flexible options and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar.
• Chartered member of the RICS (or working towards).
• Conversant in pre and post contract quantity surveying duties.
• Experience with JCT and NEC contracts.
• Understanding of measurement methods (NRM).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client teams and lead with project managers, contractors and internal teams.
• Estimate, monitor and control project costs pre and post contract.
• Validate and manage contractor and supplier costs and payments.
• Provide regular financial reports and present performance and risk updates.
• Undertake procurement or assist the procurement team in appointing contractors.
• Administer various contract types and ensure terms are met.
• Maintain accurate project records with the Project Manager.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks; support value engineering to improve performance.
• Support and mentor junior QS staff.
