Job summary

STRABAG UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on a large scale Weybridge project within our Build Division. You will manage pre-construction through final account, drive value, quality and efficiency, and partner with clients and supply chain to maximise financial outcomes.

The role requires RICS/ICES status or progression, degree/HNC, and strong JCT knowledge, with experience in Design & Build contracting.

Qualifications

• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards Chartership.
• Degree qualified or HNC equivalent.
• Sound knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Commercially astute. Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement.
• Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
• Experience working with a Design and Build Building Contractor.
• Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.
• Programming techniques, project controls, risk analysis, contract admin, procurement, cost, claims.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial aspects from pre-construction to final account.
• Prepare valuations/payments with full supporting documentation.
• Prepare cost reports and client invoicing.
• Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Assess and mitigate commercial risks, value engineering and change.
• Liaise with Design Manager and Project Manager on cost impacts.
• Mentor junior staff and onboard new team members.
• Maintain internal commercial reporting and project reviews.
