Job summary

Cyril Orchard Group in Shropshire seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to deliver cost consultancy across a varied portfolio. You will work hands-on within a small, experienced team and maintain direct client contact throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires independence, strong commercial sense and the ability to manage procurement, valuations and final accounts, with support from senior colleagues as needed. Flexible working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor in consultancy or contractor environments.
• Proven ability to manage projects and deliver pre- and post-contract QS services.
• Sound knowledge of contracts, procurement, and cost management.
• Strong written and numerical skills with client-facing communication.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
• Relevant QS qualification; chartered status or progression is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing cost plans, estimates, reports and tender documentation.
• Managing procurement and tender processes from enquiry to recommendation.
• Providing contract administration and post-contract cost management.
• Preparing valuations, cost reports, variation assessments and final accounts.
• Acting as day-to-day client contact and coordinating with project teams.
• Identifying commercial risks and cost issues.
