Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. in Winchester is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team, taking ownership of commercial and cost management on a varied UK portfolio.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement and opportunities to lead projects across residential, commercial and other sectors. You will work with clients and consultant teams to deliver robust cost control, feasibility studies and cost plans while developing strong relationships across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Experience in consultancy/PQS environment is essential.
• MRICS chartership or APC in progress is required.
• Strong cost control, analytical and client-facing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for commercial and cost management from inception to completion.
• Manage multiple projects across diverse sectors and maintain client relationships.
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates and cost plans.
• Manage procurement and tendering processes with analysis of bids and recommendations.
• Provide pre- and post-contract cost management including valuations and final accounts.
• Advise clients on procurement routes, contracts and commercial considerations.
• Attend project meetings with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Position: Senior Quantity SurveyorLocation: Winchester AreaSalary: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE Bennett & Game are representing a privately owned quantity surveying and project management consultancy who are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

The business provides quantity surveying, project management, project monitoring and dispute resolution services across a varied portfolio of projects throughout the UK. Their work covers sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, defence, marine and ecclesiastical projects, with typical project values around £5m and opportunities to become involved with larger schemes as the business continues to grow.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a Senior position within a genuinely close-knit consultancy. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your own projects, work directly with clients and consultant teams, and gain broad exposure across different sectors rather than being pigeonholed into one particular area. Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Overview

• Take responsibility for the commercial and cost management of projects from inception through to completion
• Manage multiple projects across a varied range of sectors and maintain strong client relationships
• Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates and cost plans throughout the design process
• Manage procurement and tendering processes, including analysis of tender returns and providing recommendations to clients
• Provide pre and post-contract cost management, including valuations, change control and final accounts
• Advise clients and project teams on procurement routes, contract matters and commercial considerations
• Attend project meetings and work closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary consultant teams
• Contribute to the continued growth of the consultancy through client relationships, networking and identifying opportunities

Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience gained within a consultancy / PQS environment is essential
• MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership through the APC process
• Strong pre and post-contract experience
• Experience of managing projects independently and dealing directly with clients
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts, with NEC experience advantageous
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent cost control and analytical skills
• Good communication, client-facing and technical writing skills
• Able to work independently while contributing positively within a small, collaborative team
