Job summary

Hill McGlynn Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a construction and refurbishment project based from the Gillingham, Kent office.

The role focuses on estimating, tendering, pricing and cost management from tender through to completion, working closely with the commercial and operational teams to control costs, budgets and commercial risks. Experience in property conversions and residential refurbishment is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, tendering and construction pricing is essential.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction costs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects from tender stage to final account.
• Prepare detailed estimates, cost plans and project budgets.
• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare competitive and accurate tender submissions.
• Analyse project costs and supply chain quotations.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tender enquiries and payments.
