Job summary

Schindler UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Business Partner to support the commercial performance of new installation projects. You will work with project, operational and supply chain teams to drive profitability, manage risk and ensure contracts are delivered from award to final account.

The role involves leading negotiations, cost forecasting and managing contractual records across a substantial portfolio of live installations, offering influence over commercial outcomes

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent commercial discipline.
• Proven experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level in construction, building services, engineering, infrastructure or maintenance sectors.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and complex commercial programmes.
• Strong knowledge of contract management, commercial administration and risk management principles.
• Proven experience preparing and negotiating applications for payment, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Experience forecasting project costs and managing commercial performance against budget.

Responsibilities

• Managing customer and subcontractor contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring obligations are met and risks are managed.
• Leading commercial negotiations with customers, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Preparing, submitting and agreeing interim and final accounts, supporting timely payment and cash collection.
• Identifying, valuing and negotiating contract variations, compensation events, claims and opportunities.
• Monitoring, forecasting and reporting project costs, performance and commercial outcomes.
• Maintaining commercial risk and opportunity registers and implementing profitability strategies.
• Supporting project teams to improve financial performance and successful delivery.
• Managing procurement and subcontractor performance.
