Job summary

Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities on a major hospital project in the Crewe area. The role involves cost control, procurement, tendering and contract administration across multiple work packages, with a focus on value optimization and risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale, major projects.
• Healthcare procure schemes with NEC contract experience preferred.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial awareness and experience managing procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and subcontract packages.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management across all project stages, ensuring cost control and value optimisation.
• Procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, and management of subcontract packages through to final account.
• Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
• Minimise risk and cost while maximising value through cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to deliver on time and within budget.
