Job summary

AmcoGiffen is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Southern Commercial team in the South East. You will own the commercial and financial management of a portfolio of civils, rail, and infrastructure projects, driving profitability and managing risk.

You will report to the Commercial Manager and support tendering, procurement, and client relationships while mentoring junior members of the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil/rail/infrastructure.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Experience managing full commercial lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts and related processes.
• Experience in managing subcontract procurement, negotiations and final accounts.
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting and cost management skills.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximizing opportunities.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior commercial staff.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach focused on delivering project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Taking commercial responsibility for multiple projects and ensuring outcomes.
• Leading applications for payment, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
• Producing monthly Cost Value Reconcilations (CVRs), forecasts and cash flows.
• Providing commercial support to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• Mentoring and developing junior surveyors and trainees.
• Collaborating with Commercial Manager to drive best practice.
