Job summary

Amcogiffen is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Region commercial team in Swanley. The role focuses on commercial and financial management for civils, rail, and infrastructure projects across the South East, reporting to the Commercial Manager.

You will drive profitability, manage risk, develop junior commercial staff, and apply best practice across procurement, contract administration and final account settlement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, rail or infrastructure contracting.
• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Strong experience managing full commercial lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts and related processes.
• Experience in subcontract procurement, commercial negotiations and final accounts.
• Strong financial reporting, forecasting and cost management skills.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for multiple projects, ensuring successful financial and contractual outcomes.
• Lead preparation and submission of applications for payment, variations, compensation events and final accounts.
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconcilations (CVRs), forecasts, cash flows and reports.
• Provide proactive commercial support to operations to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
• Manage subcontract procurement, negotiations and final accounts; administer NEC and bespoke contracts.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients and stakeholders; ensure notices and submissions are timely.
