Job summary

Gleeson Homes in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to drive comprehensive commercial management across designated developments, ensuring robust expenditure control in line with site budgets and programmes.

You will report to the Commercial Director and collaborate with the wider team to optimise profitability, manage costs, cash flow and subcontractor performance, and deliver clear KPI updates.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Quantity Surveying in high-volume housebuilding.
• Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting and cash flow management.
• Familiarity with contractual procedures and commercial systems.

Responsibilities

• Take a whole-company view of performance to enhance profitability and operating effectiveness.
• Actively manage build and infrastructure costs, cash flows, movements and budgeted financial information at site level.
• Ensure policies are followed and report on all development/build expenditure to deliver regional commercial objectives.
• Review monthly site valuations and costs using the approved system.
• Manage relationships with Housing Associations, subcontractors and third parties to meet contractual terms.
• Procure subcontract trades following Group policies ensuring best value and prequalification compliance.
• Provide cost/budget analysis by development and advise on cost reduction opportunities.
• Contribute to site start programmes and timelines.
• Host regular meetings with subcontractors to review performance.
• Produce KPI status reports and updates for the Commercial Director.
