Job summary

Gleeson Homes is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across designated developments in the Nottingham area. You will control expenditure against site budgets and programmes, ensuring robust cash control and value delivery.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will work with the commercial team and site management to produce cost analyses, manage subcontractor procurement, and deliver KPI reporting to support the region's growth.

Qualifications

• Depth of knowledge in Quantity Surveying within a high-volume housebuilder.
• Understanding of surveying and contractual procedures.
• Good grasp of financial implications of build methods and sequences.
• Strong knowledge of the construction industry.
• Proficiency with commercial and financial management systems.

Responsibilities

• Take a whole-company view of performance to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Actively manage build costs, cash flows, variations and budgets at site level.
• Ensure compliance with Group policies and report expenditure to add value.
• Review monthly site valuations and cost data within the approved system.
• Manage partnerships with Housing Associations, subcontractors and third parties.
• Procure subcontract trades following Group policies to secure best value.
• Provide detailed cost/budget analyses per development for Contracts Managers.
• Agree site start programmes and timescales with stakeholders.
• Host regular meetings with subcontractors to review performance.
• Produce KPI status reports and updates to the Commercial Director.
