Thorn Baker is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial department of a large, privately owned company specializing in timber frame building solutions, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

About You:

• Experience with JCT and/or SBC sub-contracts
• Confident negotiator with client relationship skills and risk mitigation
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Efficient time management
• Team player
• Broad knowledge of the Construction Industry, particularly in House Building, timber frame, or offsite construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Your Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects within budget and specifications
• Review and negotiate sub-contracts
• Complete pre-construction activities
• Prepare and issue sub-contract tenders
• Manage day-to-day contract administration
• Liaise with the Finance department
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks
• Prepare monthly cost reports
• Support the development of Assistant and Quantity Surveyors
