Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading integrated design and build provider within the UK Water Sector. The role focuses on cost management, contract administration, and collaboration with design, construction and supply chain teams.

The successful candidate will manage large value packages, oversee payment applications, and mentor junior commercial staff while contributing to framework partnerships and long-term projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent.
• Experience of managing projects in excess of £5m.
• Procurement of large value packages.
• Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors.
• NEC3 or IChemE Experience.
• Experience of managing and developing an individual or small team.
• Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quantity surveying responsibilities across projects and work packages.
• Work closely with design, construction, and supply chain teams to monitor, analyse, and control project costs.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure project and business objectives are achieved.
• Administer the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are identified, prepared, and issued when required.
• Produce and issue subcontract documentation in a timely manner.
• Support the management and performance monitoring of subcontractors.
• Oversee the preparation, submission, and agreement of payment applications.
• Prepare and maintain project cost reports, value reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Provide support in the development and mentoring of junior commercial team members.
• Maintain professional development through networks and industry groups.

Key Duties

• Carry out quantity surveying responsibilities across projects and individual work packages.
