Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading design and build provider within the UK Water Sector. This permanent role in North London offers hybrid working and long-term framework project exposure.

You will prepare payment applications, monitor costs, produce monthly commercial reports and manage supply chain relations, with NEC/IChemE contract knowledge. RICS/APC progression welcomed as part of your professional development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• RICS or APC in progress.
• Experience with a main contractor.
• Experience in the Water sector.
• Knowledge of NEC/IChemE contracts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare applications for payment, valuations and cost/value reconciliations.
• Monitor project costs and maintain accurate forecasting.
• Produce monthly commercial reports covering value, cost, profit/loss and cash flow.
• Manage supply chain relationships and commercial activities.
• Support Risk and Value Management with regular team reviews.
• Administer contracts using relevant forms, budgetary controls and software.
• Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms and set up agreements.
• Ensure all contractual documentation and notifications are up to date.
• Escalate safety risks to site management and maintain site communications.
• Provide contractual/commercial guidance to the site team.

Key Duties

• Prepare applications for payment, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations.
• Monitor project costs and maintain accurate forecasting.
• Produce monthly commercial reports covering value, cost, profit/loss, and cash flow.
• Manage supply chain relationships and commercial activities.
• Support Risk and Value Management processes, providing guidance and regular reviews with the project team.
• Administer contracts using relevant contractual forms, budgetary controls, and commercial software.
• Prepare subcontract enquiries, negotiate terms, and set up subcontract agreements.
• Ensure all contractual documentation and notifications are maintained and kept up to date.
• Escalate any safety risks or concerns to site management promptly.
• Maintain regular communication with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Provide contractual and commercial advice to the site team as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• RICS or studying for APC
• Experience working with a main contractor
• Experience working within Water
• Knowledge of NEC / IChemE contracts
