Job summary

Kier Group in Oxfordshire is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Water Framework team at Horton-Cum-Studley WTW and Thame WTW sites. You will support commercial management during the construction phase and work closely with the wider team.

The role requires a construction degree, a full driving licence, experience in a contractor environment (MEP a plus), and familiarity with various contract forms. You will lead and mentor junior staff and help maximise margin.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Water Framework team based on our Horton-Cum-Studley WTW and Thame WTW sites in Oxfordshire.

Location: Horton-Cum-Studley and Thame Oxfordshire
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within our commercial team on an exciting Water Framework project. You'll play a key role in assisting with the commercial management during the construction phase, ensuring successful delivery while working collaboratively with the wider team.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering commercial excellence on Water Framework projects. Your day to day will include:

• Ensuring compliance with procurement strategies, including managing subcontract inquiries and tender reviews
• Managing valuations, project cashflows, and turnover forecasts with monthly cost reports
• Providing legal and contractual advice on orders, changes, and subcontractor administration
• Driving commercial initiatives and producing margin improvement plans to maximize opportunities
• Leading and supporting junior staff, ensuring workload targets and deadlines are successfully met

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

• You hold a relevant academic qualification in a Construction related degree
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You have prior experience working in a commercial role for a contractor, ideally with MEP exposure
• You have experience working with a variety of contract forms
• You have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
