Job Description

CMDP, a Joint Venture between Costain and MWHT, has been selected by Southern Water to deliver essential infrastructure solutions for its next AMP8 investment programme. The initial award is for a seven-year term worth at least £500m to Costain, with an option to extend by up to five years.

The framework will deliver upgrades to water and wastewater assets, including treatment sites, pumping stations, and reservoirs, during Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) and beyond. The AMP8 programme, running from 2025 to 2030, is expected to be the largest undertaken by Southern Water.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the management and issuance of notices and correspondence.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and opportunities for the Project Director/Manager.
• Maintain registers of variations, delays, extensions, and claims; ensure compliance with company policies.
• Assist in preparing monthly progress valuations and work claims.
• Liaise with the employer's commercial team and client team.
• Conduct pre-contract tender negotiations and prepare reports.
• Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budget reports.
• Review value management and advise on risk management.
• Prepare, review, and complete sub-contract documentation.
• Plan change management and cost control strategies.
• Prepare and agree interim payment applications.
• Negotiate final accounts with subcontractors.
• Manage subcontract processes from initial order to final account.
• Monitor procurement plans, analyze commercial comparisons, and update procurement activities.
• Reconcile weekly plant, material, and labor against budgets.
