An opportunity for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor has become available with a major civil engineering contractor delivering a £500M framework.
The current work is scheduled to run until 2030 and includes civil engineering capital projects in the water sector, ranging from £10M-£30M, administered under NEC conditions.

This is a hybrid role with two days per week on-site in Southampton.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop effective management and issuance of accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence, ensuring contractual compliance.
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and opportunities on the project.
- Maintain registers of variations, delays, extension times, and claims; implement company's commercial policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed; produce pre-contract tender negotiations and reports if necessary.
- Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budget reports.
- Manage subcontracts from initial placement to final account.
- Monitor and update procurement plans, analyze commercial comparisons for subcontract procurement.
- Reconcile weekly plant, material, and labor against budget.
- Monitor the main contract, including producing change reports and value change reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in delivering large-scale projects, including civil, mechanical, infrastructure, and non-infrastructure work.
- Adaptability to evolving digital reporting requirements in commercial management.
- Proactive approach to new working methods, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Leadership skills to develop team capabilities.
- Confidence in stakeholder engagement across disciplines to establish comprehensive commercial understanding.
- Ability to challenge project team views on scope and hold them accountable.
- Full Membership or nearing completion of RICS / CIECS.
