Qualifications

• Proven track record as Senior Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment.
• Experience managing complex construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, tender processes, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Experience working with JCT contracts.
• Commercially astute, highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Able to provide sound contractual advice and confidently manage commercial risk.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Can lead, mentor and develop junior members of the commercial team.
• Willing to work across sites in the North West.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion.
• Take ownership of projects and work packages of varying size, complexity and value.
• Manage cost, contractual and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Procure subcontractors and materials and manage subcontract packages through to final account.
• Prepare and manage valuations, variations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Provide commercial and contractual guidance to operational and site teams.
• Attend and contribute to internal project meetings, client meetings and wider stakeholder discussions.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and project teams.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensuring commercial documentation is managed in line with company procedures.
• Manage, mentor and support Quantity Surveyors at all levels, including Trainee and Project Quantity Surveyors.
• Support the wider commercial team and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
