Job summary

MWH Treatment Limited in Beckton is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management on projects within our utilities/civil engineering portfolio. Hybrid working is available.

You will report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and oversee cost control, subcontract administration, cashflow and client liaison, while mentoring junior commercial staff.

This role requires NEC3 experience and a degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or construction discipline.
• Working towards or chartered membership of a recognised institution.
• Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors.
• NEC3 contract experience.

Responsibilities

• Quantity surveying duties managing projects and work packages.
• Collaborate with design, construction and supply chain to capture, analyse and control cost.
• Manage main contract notices and correspondence.
• Prepare and issue subcontract documentation; assist in subcontractor management.
• Prepare project cost and value reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Develop junior commercial staff.
• Maintain professional development and confidentiality in all dealings.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based at Beckton with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Managing Quantity Surevyor andyou will be expected to take responsibility for theCommercial Management of Project(s).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages
• Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost
• Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met
• Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary
• Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation
• Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment
• The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Assist in the management and development of junior commercial staff
