Job summary

Randstad CPE is actively seeking a commercially sharp Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor for a leading traditional house builder in Redhill, Surrey. The role demands a hands-on commercial professional able to thrive in a high-volume environment and hit the ground running from day one.

The successful candidate will have COINS software expertise, a strong residential background, and either 15+ years in the sector or exceptional drive in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven daily operational proficiency with COINS software (essential).
• Strong track record in traditional residential housebuilding (or mixed-use with residential exposure).
• 15+ years of solid housebuilding experience OR highly proactive self-starter to manage a high workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and financial aspects of traditional housebuilding developments from procurement to final accounts.
• Utilise COINS software for cost reporting, CVRs, procurement schedules, and valuations.
• Procure sub-contract packages, negotiate terms and maintain relationships with supply chain partners.
• Conduct monthly cost-to-complete forecasts, budget reconciliations and cash flow projections.
• Collaborate with site managers, technical teams and external consultants to protect profit margins.

Overview

A premier UK traditional house builder and developer is seeking a commercially sharp and proactive Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Redhill on a long-term contract basis. The regional pipeline is heavily active, fast-paced, and growing.

This role requires a hands-on commercial professional who can integrate quickly into a high-volume environment. We are seeking either a seasoned professional with around 15+ years of residential experience or a high-energy, proactive commercial surveyor with the drive and capability to hit the ground running from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and financial aspects of traditional housebuilding developments from procurement through to final accounts.
• Utilize COINS software on a daily basis for cost reporting, sub-contractor payments, CVRs, procurement schedules, and valuations.
• Procure sub-contract packages, negotiate trade terms, and maintain strong commercial relationships with supply chain partners.
• Conduct monthly cost-to-complete forecasts, budget reconciliations, and cash flow projections.
• Work collaboratively with site managers, technical teams, and external consultants to manage risk and protect profit margins.

Candidate Requirements

• Software Requirement (Essential): Proven daily operational proficiency with COINS software. Candidates without COINS experience cannot be considered.
• Background: Strong track record in traditional residential housebuilding (or a mixed-use background with deep residential exposure).
• Experience & Mindset: Either 15+ years of solid housebuilding experience OR a highly proactive self-starter with the energy to manage a high workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Career History: A track record demonstrating good stints and stability with house builders or major residential developers.
• Availability: Must be available for an ASAP start in Redhill.

Package Details

• Day Rate: 350 - 400 / day (Depending on Experience).
• IR35: Outside IR35 contract available.
• Duration: Long-term assignment offering exceptional job stability on active schemes.
• Parking: Free on-site parking provided.
