Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a fast-moving civil engineering project in Grays, RM16. You will support project development, manage packages, and provide commercial and contractual advice on site.

The role requires highways experience and a driving licence; daily rate £550 umbrella, contract running to 31 December 2026 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Essential experience in civil engineering construction, highways sector desirable.
• Must be computer literate and comfortable using the Seymour management system.
• Must hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support project development and delivery by providing contractual and commercial advice to the project team.
• Ensure all contract requirements related to the project are complied with in full.
• Produce financial reporting related to schemes to the required standard and timetable.
• Manage subcontract procurement and administration, ensuring timely instructions are issued with appropriate governance and the supply chain is paid in accordance with contractual arrangements.
• Effectively manage supply chain variations, risk, and cashflow forecasting.
• Produce early warnings and compensation events in accordance with contract requirements.
• Ensure effective control of costs across all activities and deliver weekly reporting.
• Liaise effectively within the team, with other teams, and with the supply chain.

Are you a highly capable commercial professional looking to make an immediate impact on a fast-paced project that is picking up speed quickly? We are partnering with a leading international infrastructure group who are leading the transformation of our industry to meet the challenges of the future to recruit a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor. With a multitude of new packages kicking off soon, our client needs a strong candidate who can step in, assist the wider team, and oversee packages independently without needing too much hands-on help. This role is perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between the junior and senior teams on site.

Role Highlights:

• Location: Grays, RM16

• Hours: 8.5-hour workday, Mon to Fri

• Rate: £550 per day (umbrella rate)

• Contract: Immediate start running until 31/12/2026, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all contract requirements related to the project are complied with in full.
