Job summary

Search Consultancy Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major substation project at Indian Queens in Cornwall. The role involves managing the full commercial lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on NEC3/NEC4 contract administration.

The successful candidate will lead cost control, CVRs, forecasts and risk management, while building relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong practical knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Experience on substation, power or HV projects is essential.
• Experience within energy, transmission, distribution or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills; cost control, CVRs, forecasting and contract administration.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk and opportunity management.
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and agree commercial costs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team where required.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Indian Queens Substation

Location: Indian Queens, Cornwall

Rate: 450- 550 per day, depending on experience

Contract: Temporary

Hours: 45 hours per week 08:00-16:30

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Until June 2027

Positions: 1

Site Attendance: Minimum 3 days per week

The opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major energy infrastructure project, working within a specialist transmission and renewables environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in a significant substation project and will have the opportunity to work across the full commercial lifecycle, from project delivery through to final account.
