Search Consultancy Ltd is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major substation project in Cornwall (Indian Queens). The role demands NEC3/NEC4 expertise, strong cost control and a track record in energy infrastructure.

You will lead commercial activities through inception to final account, liaising with clients, engineers and subcontractors. The position is temporary, with a 45-hour week and an ASAP start, lasting until June 2027.

Formación

• Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Strong practical knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Experience on substation, power or HV projects is essential.
• Experience in energy, transmission, distribution or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Experience with cost control, CVRs, forecasting and contract administration.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk and opportunity management.
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and within a project team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Indian Queens Substation

Contract: Temporary

Hours: 45 hours per week | 08:00-16:30

About the role:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major substation project at Indian Queens in Cornwall.

The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience within the infrastructure or energy sector, with previous substation, power or HV experience essential. You will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of the project, working closely with project managers, engineers, clients and subcontractors.

Strong NEC3/NEC4 experience is required, along with the ability to manage commercial risk, control costs and support the successful delivery of the project.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage all commercial aspects of the project from inception through to final account.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts.
• Manage Early Warnings, Compensation Events and payment applications.
• Produce accurate CVRs, financial reports and forecasts.
• Implement effective cost control measures.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Manage subcontract procurement and commercial administration.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and contractual compliance.
• Manage variations and Compensation Events through to agreement.
• Negotiate and agree commercial costs.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team where required.

Requirements:

The opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major energy infrastructure project, working within a specialist transmission and renewables environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in a significant substation project and will have the opportunity to work across the full commercial lifecycle, from project delivery through to final account.
