Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment, on behalf of a privately owned main contractor with 20+ years in East Anglia, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Cambridge region. You will lead commercial activities on Education, Healthcare and Mixed-Use projects valued from £2m–£10m.

The role requires 7+ years as a QS in a main contractor, strong JCT contract experience, and a BSc in Quantity Surveying. Salary is circa £70k-£80k with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor.
• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• Proficient in JCT contracts and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Sub-contract enquiries, procurement, and order placement.
• Accurate measurement and valuations of work on-site.
• Timely applications for payment and reconciling accounts.
• Managing variations and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Settling final accounts and ensuring practical completion is met commercially.

Apple Technical Recruitment are working exclusively with a privately owned medium sized Main Contractor with c20years+ of history in East Anglia. The business is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Cambridgeshire region.

With a robust pipeline of work across Cambridge, specifically within the Education, Healthcare, Commercial and Mixed-Use sectors. The successful candidate will initially take the commercial lead on a Higher Education project in Cambridge and a mixed-use project in the local area, both valued between c 2m- 10m. The business is known for its supportive culture and their successful track record in the local area.
