Job summary

A privately owned Main Contractor with a turnover in excess of £40million and a track record delivering projects across Suffolk is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will oversee 2 projects valued between c£2-£10m in single value, based in Ipswich with offices on the outskirts and local sites.

The role offers a salary of c£70k-£75k basic plus a strong benefits package including car allowance or salary sacrifice electric car, holiday

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
• Essential experience using JCT contracts.
• Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Sub-contract enquiries, procurement, and order placement.
• Accurate measurement and valuations of work on-site.
• Timely applications for payment and reconciling accounts.
• Managing variations and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Settling final accounts and ensuring practical completion is met commercially.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Skills: Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Background: Previous experience as an Quantity Surveyor, Project QS, or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
