O’Neill and Brennan is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on a circa £150m residential-led mixed-use development in Lambeth, South London. The role offers a salary of £85,000–£95,000 plus a £5,500 car allowance, discretionary bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor in a developer, main contracting or principal contracting environment
• Developer-side experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience on large-scale residential or residential-led mixed-use developments
• Previous experience commercially managing significant projects, ideally £100m+
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation, communication and reporting skills
• Proven ability to take ownership of a project and act as the main commercial contact
• Long-term tenure with previous employers and commitment to career development
• Ability to operate autonomously while working within a wider project team
• Strong understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale development projects
• Ambition to progress within a growing development business

Responsibilities

• Act as the main commercial point of contact for a circa £150m residential-led mixed-use development
• Take overall responsibility for the commercial management and performance of the project
• Manage the commercial strategy and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractor and consultant packages
• Prepare tender enquiries, analyse returns, negotiate and recommend awards
• Manage valuations, payments, variations, change control and final accounts
• Monitor project costs, forecast expenditure and maintain accurate commercial reporting
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation and cost-control measures
• Work closely with project managers, construction teams, design teams, consultants and senior management to ensure delivery
• Provide clear and accurate commercial information to senior management and key stakeholders
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants and supply chain partners
• Support the wider commercial function and contribute to the growth of the business

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a highly regarded and well-established property developer who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team, taking a lead commercial role on a circa £150m residential-led mixed‑use development in Lambeth.

The successful candidate will act as the main commercial point of contact for the project, taking significant responsibility for the commercial management and delivery of the scheme while working closely with the wider project team, senior management and external stakeholders.
