Job summary

NRL Group in Seascale, Cumbria, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major civil engineering programme. You will manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, administer change control, and drive robust cost control across project phases.

The role is site-based with a competitive salary plus benefits, including a car allowance and a strong pension package. A relevant degree and proven civil infra experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contract management.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial expertise and support across complex civil engineering packages.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including change control, payment applications and final accounts.
• Support cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial reporting activities.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks, ensuring compliance with governance and client frameworks.
• Lead subcontract administration, including supplier engagement and performance monitoring.
• Contribute to procurement processes and tender evaluation.
• Produce accurate financial reports and maintain robust cost control across project phases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent commercial alignment.
