Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on major civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will work with project managers, engineers and the commercial team to ensure projects meet financial targets and client expectations.

Essential qualifications include a degree in Quantity Surveying and strong NEC contracts experience, with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure contracting.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing projects from procurement through to final account.
• Excellent commercial awareness and financial management skills.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Mentor and support junior commercial staff where appropriate.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the commercial function.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for one or more major civil engineering projects from contract award through to final account.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider commercial team, you'll oversee all aspects of commercial management, ensuring projects achieve their financial objectives while maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in civil engineering who enjoys working in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

• Working towards or holding professional membership (RICS, CIOB or equivalent).
• Previous experience mentoring junior surveyors.
