Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick in Didcot is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our project team, delivering commercial excellence across cost control, budgeting and contract administration.

You will work within a busy site team, developing robust commercial strategies, managing risk, and ensuring timely, within-budget project delivery. A chartered QS with Tier 1 experience is preferred, with strong communication and initiative.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional pathway (RICS/CIOB/ICES).
• Chartered QS with Tier 1 main contractor experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge of construction management and sustainable techniques.

Responsibilities

• Manage costs, budgets and contracts on the project.
• Support team to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Provide commercial guidance and risk management across the project lifecycle.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team working on our project in Didcot.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is an important part of the project team and helps make sure projects are managed well from a commercial point of view. This role involves managing costs, budgets, and contracts, supporting the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

About you

• An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
• Adequate experience as a Project QS from a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
• Knowledge and understanding of construction management, construction and sustainable construction techniques.
• Good communicator
• Able to work under pressure
• Effective use of Initiative
