Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd seeks an MRICS Chartered Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Edinburgh team. You will deliver cost management across the full lifecycle, working with clients and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Responsibilities include pre/post-contract QS services, cost planning, procurement advice, tender management, contract administration and reporting. Mentoring juniors and developing client relationships are key aspects of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services.
• Strong cost planning, estimating and budgeting capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage procurement, tendering and contract administration.
• Experience in commercial management and reporting to clients.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and build client relationships.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts is preferred.
• Full right to work in the UK.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services throughout the full project lifecycle, working closely with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing pre and post contract Quantity Surveying services.
• Cost planning, estimating and budgeting.
• Procurement advice and tender management.
• Contract administration and commercial management.
• Managing project costs and reporting to clients.
• Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Identifying opportunities for business development and repeat work.

Essential Requirements

MRICS Chartered status is essential for this position.
You'll also have:

• Proven experience working within a construction consultancy or cost consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction contracts, particularly NEC and/or JCT.
• Experience delivering projects from inception through to completion.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and communication abilities.
• Full right to work in the UK.
