Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Complex Projects team in delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. The role focuses on commercial and cost management from inception to final account.

You will handle NEC contract administration, budgeting and cost reporting while engaging with clients and a multidisciplinary team. The position offers flexible and remote working options and career development support.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a QS in a consultancy, contractor, or similar environment.
  • Interest in achieving Chartered status with RICS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Contract administration of NEC4 contracts across main options.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, risk management and cost reporting.
  • Managing payment processes and interim valuations.
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and timescales are met for clients.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver cost planning and reporting.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Attending site meetings and undertaking site-based duties as required.
  • Assisting with final accounts assessment and agreement.

Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure Projects

Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to work on a diverse range of complex and high-profile projects? I'm working with a leading construction consultancy that is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Complex Projects team. The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in the successful delivery of projects from a commercial and cost management perspective. Responsibilities will include:

  • Contract administration of NEC4 contracts across a variety of main options.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, risk management and cost reporting.
  • Managing payment processes and supporting interim valuations.
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and timescales are complied with on behalf of clients.
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver cost planning and cost reporting in line with project programmes.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Attending site meetings and undertaking site-based duties where required.
  • Assisting with the assessment and agreement of final accounts.
  • Taking pride in representing both the profession and the business to a high standard.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy, contractor or similar environment.
  • An interest in, or commitment towards, achieving Chartered status with the RICS or equivalent professional body.
  • NEC3 and/or NEC4 contract experience, although this would be advantageous rather than essential.
  • Knowledge of standard methods of measurement.
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, communication and IT skills.
  • A professional and collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • A genuine desire to continue learning and developing within the Quantity Surveying profession.
