Job summary

A leading international contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for an ongoing contract in the Cardiff area. This pivotal role involves managing project costs for high-value construction projects, ideally within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors. Candidates should have significant project delivery experience and expertise in MEP, particularly piping, to ensure seamless integration with multiple disciplines as part of effective project delivery.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years' relevant industry experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of current building and construction processes.
  • Experience with JCT contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, progress and forecast all phases of project costs.
  • Integrate with engineering, procurement, schedule, and construction disciplines for reporting.
  • Lead cost planning for effective Capital Project Delivery.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - ONGOING CONTRACT
Cardiff area - site/home hybrid & occasional office visits expected
£50-60phr outside IR35

This leading international contractor is looking to add a Senior Quantity Surveyor its South Wales team.
Candidates will ideally have Pharmaceutical or Life Science experience, although other major construction project experience is also of interest - anything complex and high pressured with a commercial value of at least £50m and ideally some MEP (particularly piping).

The successful applicant will be accountable to develop, progress and forecast all phases of project costs using the most current industry practices and software, and will provide cost planning leadership and integrate with engineering, procurement, schedule, technical & construction disciplines for seamless reporting to insure effective Capital Project Delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree.
• Significant experience in Project Delivery, including Estimating and Cost.
• 5-10 years' relevant industry experience.
• MEP experience, particularly piping.
• Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business, and legal matters.
• JCT experience.
