Point72 in the United Kingdom seeks a senior Python platform engineer to design, develop, and evolve a production analytics platform used across our macro business. Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and supporting production Python platforms, APIs, services, or analytics applications in macro, trading, risk, pricing, or related financial markets environments.
• Experience designing and delivering stable Python APIs and user-facing interfaces for quantitative researchers, traders, risk users, and software engineers, with usability and backward-compatibility in mind.
• Exposure to service-oriented architectures with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and production service support.
• Strong Excel skills for trading, risk, analytics, or related financial markets workflows.
• Experience integrating Python apps with lower-level analytics libraries and data platforms.
• Understanding of pricing, valuation, calibration, curve construction, scenarios, and risk concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evolve a Python-based analytics platform used across the macro business.
• Shape Python APIs and interfaces for pricing, calibration, curves, scenarios, valuation, and risk analytics.
• Build robust service interfaces and connect users, apps, and downstream systems to production analytics.
• Maintain analytics workflows so traders, researchers, and risk users access analytics via practical spreadsheet interfaces.
• Collaborate with researchers, traders, risk users, and tech partners to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Expose production analytics via stable Python APIs, services, and front-end integration points.
• Provide technical guidance on API design, architecture, performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to releases, production support, performance improvements, and investigations of analytics discrepancies.
• Mentor developers when appropriate.
