Job summary

The Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a senior analyst to join the Quality team in Bristol. You will lead one quality portfolio and provide cross-cover for other analysts, focusing on dashboards, automated reporting and thematic analysis from incidents, complaints, surveys, clinical audit and operational data.

You will use Power BI, SQL and Excel to deliver insights, with scope to pilot governed AI-assisted analytics.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field such as statistics, data science or information management, or equivalent informatics experience
• Evidence of CPD in analytics, information management, improvement measurement or related fields

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain dashboards and automated reporting in Power BI, SQL and Excel, using statistical methods including SPC
• Analyse and triangulate incidents, complaints/PALS, surveys, clinical audit and operational data to identify themes, variation, learning and risk
• Translate complex analysis into actionable insight for clinical teams, senior leaders, committees and the Board, including advice on limitations and risk
• Lead analytical inputs for statutory returns, regulatory submissions and inspection readiness
• Lead the definition, validation and quality assurance of data pipelines and insight products with BI/Digital teams
• Investigate data quality issues and work with data owners on remediation
• Provide analytical leadership, mentoring, peer review and quality assurance across the analyst team
• Maintain a delivery plan and backlog, agreeing priorities and timescales with senior stakeholders
• Support quality improvement through baselines, measures and evaluation of change
• Lead a portfolio area as subject matter contact, such as Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Clinical Effectiveness or Quality Regulatory Assurance
• Handle confidential patient-level information under information governance requirements
• Explore governed AI-assisted analytics with human oversight
