Job summary

PSR Solutions in Birmingham seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activities across West Midlands projects. The role focuses on pre-construction and cost management within a Tier 1 contractor environment.

You will drive cost plans, procure subcontractors, monitor spend, and mentor junior staff to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget on high-profile schemes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in construction or a senior QS role.
• Experience on large-scale projects with a minimum value of £10 million.
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• RICS membership desired.
• Strong understanding of various contract forms.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cost estimation and prepare cost plans.
• Manage subcontractor procurement and terms.
• Monitor project costs, variations, and cost control measures.
• Ensure contractual compliance and risk management.
• Collaborate with project team on commercial issues and cost-saving solutions.
• Prepare monthly financial performance reports.
• Perform cost/value reconciliations and final accounts.
• Mentor junior commercial team members.
